The recent overhaul of Yahoo Mail has
frustrated many users, who have complained about the new look, revamped
features and assorted bugs in the service. The Yahoo Contacts list,
however, should still let you set your preferences to sort the list by
first names. As the Yahoo Contacts guide explains, go to the Actions
menu on the Contacts screen and choose “Sort by First Name” from the
list.
If you find this does not work, click
the Send Feedback link at the bottom of the left column and describe the
problem to Yahoo. Several people have complained of issues with the
sorting feature on Yahoo’s error- and bug-reporting page, so there may
be a problem in the software. Many of Yahoo Mail’s rollout woes will
perhaps be resolved with time and user feedback.
You should also check your Web browser
to make sure it meets the requirements for Yahoo Mail. For full
functionality on a Windows 7 machine, you need at least Internet
Explorer 8, Firefox 19, Safari 4 or Google Chrome 25 with JavaScript
enabled.
